Donate to the Steven B. Jung Theatre Artist Fund

Steven Jung passed away on January 6, 2021. Steven’s wife, Wendy, and children, Brendan and Stephanie, have established through vAct the Steven B. Jung Theatre Artist Fund to annually fund an award to an emerging Asian Canadian theatre artist to further develop experience in the field of costume or set design or technical theatre.

Donate to the Joyce Lam Award Fund

Joyce Lam founded vAct in 2001. Writing was one of Joyce’s many passions and the Lam and Wong families are proud to establish this award in her name in hopes it can play some small part in the legacy Joyce leaves behind, to inspire and support Asian Canadians in the performing and creative arts.

You can eliminate your capital gains taxes and maximize your tax savings by making a gift of securities to vAct. Transferring securities is very easy to do – simply follow these 2 steps:

1.Complete all sections of the securities transfer form.

Please complete the Donor Information section, including your daytime phone number with area code. Your advisor/broker will provide the CUSIP #. Advise your broker or investment advisor of your wish to make a gift of securities to vAct. 

2. Email the completed transfer form to your broker or investment advisor. 

Your broker or investment advisor is responsible for initiating the transfer. Your broker will deliver the form and the securities to our agent, Raymond James Ltd.

Upon receipt of the transferred securities to vAct’s brokerage account, Raymond James Ltd. will advise us in writing of the receipt of the securities and the closing bid value. We will issue an official receipt to you for income tax purposes. Your receipt is valued based on the closing price on the day when the shares are legally transferred to vAct’s account.

We recommend you speak with your financial advisor as everyone’s tax situation is unique.
