Do you believe in the power of storytelling? In the magic of the stage? In the celebration of diverse voices?
Recently, the Canada Council for the Arts has announced significant funding cuts over the next few years. Success rates for recent rounds of applications were at around 16%. This news has rippled across the entire performing arts sector, as we are still collectively figuring out a sustainable way forward with better practices. Behind every captivating production lies the need for resources – from venue costs to technical equipment, in addition to paying our staff and collaborators fair wages.
We need your help to support the current and future generations of Asian Canadian theatre. Each season at vAct, our staff works with over 85 arts professionals to deliver our programming: mainstage productions, the Creation Lab, year-round public presentations, the vActory series, and the Springboard professional development workshops.
Your contribution is critical to the survival of the Vancouver performing arts scene. Together, we can continue to build a future where Asian Canadian stories take center stage. Every dollar counts – whether it’s $10, $50, or $100. Your generosity fuels the magic of theatre and helps us continue to create unforgettable experiences for audiences.
